Suzumi herself has nothing against people who hate dislike and manga. If that's your opinion, that's okay to her. See Suzumi, in her country, Japan, its vital to their system of balance. Anime taught her to read, the same anime that taught her native language to her, taught me my 2nd language. This anime surprisingly was an anime that Toriyama, Akira had made. He created Dragonball, which many people dislike. Does that mean everything he had done is horrible, no. If he taught hundreds of kids to read with this anime, that outlasts his Dragonball phase anyday.
How can you hate someone for using animation and comics to teach us? If you hated anime totally and thought it was pointless and you succeeded in getting rid of it, how many children in Japan never get the chance to learn from this one great teaching tool. How many people wouldn't care to learn about Japan around the world? The point of all this is that anime is not pointless, if anything, its educational. How many anime fans have you known that have gone on to study Japan in a whole, to learn its language? Its opened the doors to many people and shown them that things are different in other places of this world. Anime helped them learn that not everything is the same. It shows culture differences, how people celebrate our holidays, how people react to things. Ever pick up a volume of manga and see a family eat Kentucky Fried Chicken on Christmas? They really do that! Don't believe me, ask Suzumi. Its one of her family traditions.
While that may seem farfetched, its really not. Most manga and anime series show in excessive detail how life in Japan is lived. And yes, while some anime can have bad examples for people and a Pokemon episode has caused seizures, its not the whole anime and manga scene that's like that. Most anime is a wonderful addition to the already beautifully eccentric Japan. And lastly, Americanized anime is usually a HORRIBLE example of anime. Its one thing to hate American anime and to hate all anime.
